Tyre Talk: A Closer Look At The Valkyrie Pro From Kenda

Tyres are yet another area where cyclists are spoiled for choice – walk for a few hours around the acres of stands at EuroBike and this point’s proven time and again.

Though not a brand that springs to mind as quickly as some of the major players of the cycling tyre industry, Kenda’s high-performance Valkyie Pro attracted a considerable amount of attention at the 2017 edition of the world’s biggest bike show.

“Cyclists around the world expect the highest levels of quality and performance while maintaining durability and flat resistance,” Alex Neumann from Kenda’s European distributor Messingschlager told us.

A mad-keen cyclist and proud owner of 10 road bikes himself – from vintage through to a Pinarello F8 – Alex said he swears by the Valkyrie Pro and runs the tyre on a number of his later model bikes.

“The Valkyrie Pro is the premium tyre in the range,” he said. “It’s a lightweight, high performance cycling tyre that features an incredibly low rolling resistance and ultra light weight – 182grams in the 23mm size,” he said.

“What’s more – the tyre offers superior puncture protection thanks to Kenda’s K-Armor internal belting. I personally love this tyre – it’s light, fast and offers supurb protection. That’s what many rider’s enjoy about the Valkyrie Pro.”
