Van Vleuten Wins Women’s TT As Grace Brown Finishes 4th

Annemiek van Vleuten has put the disappointment of second place in the Olympic Road Race behind her by winning the Individual Time Trial in Tokyo.

Posting a time of just over 30 minutes, van Vleuten averaged close to 44kp/h over the tough 22km course that concluded on the Mt Fuji Speedway.

Swiss rider Marlen Reusser finished with a silver medal, while Anna van der Breggen also made the podium finishing third.

Aussie Grace Brown rode very strongly to finish in 4th place, missing out on the podium by just over 7 seconds.

Early on in the race young Australian powerhouse Sarah Gigante rode the best time and sat in the hot seat for a short time, the 20yo eventually finishing 11th.

More to come.
