Sensational news cycling fans, the world’s best track cyclists will be making a beeline for Melbourne in February 2019 as the internationally-renowned Six Day Series comes to Australia.  

Then, just two months later, Brisbane will play host to the Six Day Series World Finals as the best of the best take to the boards of the Anna Meares Velodrome in April.

Bikes, Beats & Beers

A combination of bikes, beats and beers, the Six Day Series takes the traditional form of cycling and mixes it with an upbeat party atmosphere to form the ultimate sporting event. 

With both men’s and women’s competitions across the event, fans can expect to see some of the biggest names of the sport and some seriously fierce competition. World Champions, Olympians and the next generation of cycling superstars make up the field at a typical Six Day event and the Australian events will be no exception.

The Six Day Series in Europe has attracted the likes of Mark Cavendish and Bradley Wiggins as well as Australian superstars Callum Scotson and nine-time World Champion Cameron Meyer, who won the Six Day London event in 2017. 

The Australian edition of the series will be an action-packed three day event with all the usual Six Day track racing formats including the madison, time trials, derny racing, team eliminations, scratch races and points races in a spectacular arena environment.

Details: Melbourne joins the Six Day Series for the first time and kicks off one of two visits to Australia in 2019. Expect the famous Six Day party atmosphere to have an Aussie twist as the world’s best riders head down under.

Date: 12-14 APRIL 2019

Venue: ANNA MEARES VELODROME, BRISBANE

Details: Brisbane will play host to the 2018/19 Six Day Series Final following on from last year’s event on the Spanish island of Mallorca. The best riders from across the series will descend on the Anna Meares Velodrome to battle it out for the series crown. The final usually includes plenty of drama and expect the crowd to play a major part in the outcome as Aussie riders, including past Six Day London Champions, experience a home crowd atmosphere for the very first time.
