A record 18 Australians started the second Grand Tour of the year, the Giro d'Italia.
A stark contrast from the 2020 Tour de France which featured only two Aussies - Caleb Ewan of Lotto Soudal and Richie Porte from Trek Segafredo - Australian representation at the Giro is second only to the home nation of Italy.
