Orbea have updated their popular Orca Aero model for 2020 with new technology, a new look and new features.

Bicycling Australia are currently testing & reviewing the Orca Aero M21e Team D - a bike fitted with SRAM Force AXS 12-speed, Vision 40mm wheels, Hutchinson tubeless ready tyres and more.

Orbea say the Orca was designed with dynamic racing geometry and fitted with 'Freeflow' forks to maximize pedaling efficiency and aerodynamics.

"To cut through headwinds, try the Orca Aero," they say. "This bike includes small improvements to tube shape and various components to prioritize stiffness and increase aerodynamic performance. Whether your goal is to lead the pack or raise your arms in victory after hitting 1700 Watts, the Orca Aero will help you get there."

1700W sounds great to us! If we can hit even half that number during testing we'll be happy.

We will have a full review in the January/ February edition of Bicycling Australia.

For 2020 the Orca Aero features 'Freeflow' forks. Orbea say these significantly add to the aero qualities of the bike.
The bike is only available in disc brake configuration.
The build features SRAM Force AXS electronic 12-speed and a 10-28T rear cassette.
Due to the wireless SRAM AXS system only two cables are required, front and rear brakes. Will cable-free servo-operated brakes be something we see in the future?
Orbea designers have chosen the raw carbon look on rear-facing surfaces.
Smaller than we are used to - the SRAM Force 48/35T chainrings. Note the flat top chain.
The seat clamp is neatly integrated into the aero optimised frame.
The bike comes standard with a quality Prologo Dimension saddle.
Front end height adjustment is done through the Orbea stem spacer system - neat and fuss-free.
SRAM's innovative Force AXS drivetrain and 12-speed cassette.

Mountain Biking Australia

Often overlooked, the One-Twenty from Merida commands attention with its value for money and quality build.

Mountain biking will not be present on Mt Keira's summit as part of the Illawarra Escarpment Strategy.

It’s the biggest flat pedal on the market, but how does it fare in Australian conditions?
