Down Under Classic – Rymill Park, Adelaide
Sunday 17 January, 7pm, 50 km
Bragging rights and a few thousand Euros are all that’s really on offer in the Down Under Classic. But that won’t stop tens of thousands showing up – and tuning in at home – for the traditional Sunday evening scamper through Adelaide’s East End. Marcel Kittel has won the past two instalments of the race, but has been unable to translate that form into Tour Down Under stage wins. For most riders the primary focus will be staying out of trouble.
With riders completing 30 laps of the 1.7km criterium course it will be a high energy, face-paced race for the spectators to enjoy.
Four primes are up for grabs, riders will sprint to the line on lap 5 for Prime #1, lap 10 for #2, lap 15 and lap 20 forthe #3 and #4 prime.
